HOPING TO GET THAT FIRST FEATURE VICTORY IN 2024
Matt Guererri

Matt Rotz of Hopewell, NY has spent four years in the Land of Legends Raceway Park MighTea Boba 305 Sprints and is looking for that first checkered flag.

“I’m hoping that my number of feature wins goes way up in 2024, ” laughed the 19 year old who is a freshman at Rochester Institute of Technology. Matt had a good 2024 season, finishing third in points. His inspiration is World of Outlaws 410 Sprint driver Jac “The Wild Child” Haudenchild.

Matt has dreams of driving a sprint car with a 410ci engine under the hood, right now Matt and his team are preparing for the 2024 Land of Legends Raceway Park season. It might be a little hard for Matt to think about 410 Sprints right now, especially when he’s never been in a 360 Sprint.

410ci. sprints are a long way off, as he realizes that the costs are much different than what they’ve got now. Rotz has come close to getting that first win, with several top three finishes over his career.

Matt grew up watching his dad, Jeremy, racing go-karts and dragsters. “Dad always wanted to try Sprint cars, so when he had a chance to get one, he asked me about it. I drove go-karts before Sprints.”

Sponsoring the team this season is Pickering Farms, Prouty’s Bar, Fratto Curbing, Speed Connection, Ciccino Pizzeria, Henderburg Business Solutions and Mike Emhof Motorsports.

The team will consist of his dad, Jeremy, who is the car owner and engine builder. His number one fan is his mother, Jennifer. Crew chief Dan and Patch, who works on his vinyl, make up the rest of the crew.
